About Us

Permidt Engineering began in 1957 by Louis PERsino and Michael SchMIDT. The name PERMIDT is a combination of the two original owners last names and has remained a family run business ever since. Permidt Engineering at the time performed many home services outside of just plumbing. It was not until years later that Permidt Engineering began specializing in plumbing. Louis, a first-generation Italian American, eventually took sole ownership of the business and ran it until his passing in 1979. Wanting to keep the business in the family they reached out to his former employee and nephew John Persino Sr. to purchase and run the company.

John Persino Sr. learned plumbing while working for his Uncle Louis at Permidt Engineering and his father Clarence, who was also a plumber. At the young age of 28 years old, John Sr. took over Permidt Engineering and ran it out of his house, with only the help of his wife Diana. After a few years of proven success, John’s other Uncle Jimmy, who was also a plumber, asked if he was willing to take over his customer base as well.

Over the years to come, John Sr has grown the business to 10+ employees, 5+ service vehicles and continues to provide plumbing services to loyal generations of customers. Growing a successful plumbing business has allowed John Sr. the opportunity to employ multiple family members that has been the ultimate validation of all the long hours and sacrifices that were made over the years.

In 2014, John Sr. brought his eldest son John Jr. into Permidt Engineering to ensure a continuing commitment to providing the same honest, affordable, quality service that has grown the business’s reputation since its inception in 1957.
